earthquakes how do earthquakes happen? the techtonic plates either slide, collide or rub together forming the earthquake.
How do plates move? the platesmove because of the intense heat in the earths core that causes rock in the mantle to move. it moves in a pattern that forms when warm material rises, cools and finall sinks down. as the cooled material sinks it is warmed and rises again.
How long do Earthquakes go for? the Quake its self only lasts a few seconds but the aftershocks can happen any time and can damage things easily. there are many aftetrshcks.
